At Beth Meyer Preschool, the teachers develop activities and materials that are chosen based on children’s interests and set up the environment for child-choice and self-directed play.
In this classroom, children are free to be anything from an artist to a chef to an architect. Through child-directed play, they build fine and gross motor skills, as we as expand cognitive, language, and sensory development.
Three year olds are rapidly expanding their knowledge and mastery of the world around them. They are still eager to learn through their curiosity for the natural environment around them. We build on this natural enthusiasm with activities focusing on math, language and reasoning skills.
Young children expend great effort in completing what they set out to do independently. They take in the world around them by asking lots and lots of questions.
